Animal Transfers

Animal transfer between protocol, investigator or institution

• All transfers must be approved by the Attending Veterinarian and the IACUC. 
• Transfer form may be downloaded at www.montauc.org 
• Transfer form must be completed and submitted to the CARE office before the transfer can take place. It enables the CARE department to tag and track the animals appropriately. 
• Prior to receipt of transfer form, the health report should be submitted to the CARE office. 
• Incomplete forms missing signatures or health reports status are not valid prior to transfer of animals. 
• Schedule of this request must be in advance. 
• Transfers from another institution may be quarantine for a minimum of three (3) weeks. Scientist may not come in contact with any animals in quarantine. 
• Animals that arrive at the CARE department without prior approval may be euthanized on arrival.
